Helping refugees from Ukraine

Helping refugees from Ukraine

For years PROVENTUS Foundation has been successfully implementing the DECENT LIVING charity programme focused on helping the most in need – the unemployed, the poor, large families as well as children and adults disadvantaged by fate.

We decided to use our expert knowledge and experience to help refugees from Ukraine who are coming to Poland – mostly women and children.

Ukrainian refugee crisis was caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and began with the invasion of Russian troops on February 24, 2022.

According to UNHCR data by March 18, 2022 over 3,328,692 people has left Ukraine of which 2,010,693 went to Poland, 299,273 to Hungary, 240,009 to Slovakia, 359,056 to Moldova, 518,269 to Romania, rest to other countries. Only a small part of refugees applied for refugee in Moldova and Romania – most indicated Poland as their destination country.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees projects that on the European Union territory will soon be between 2.5 and 6.5 million and perhaps even 7 million, refugees from Ukraine, mostly women and children. There are many indications that these people will mostly decide to stay in Poland.

We are currently working on equipping and launching the Assistance Center for Ukrainian Refugees in Poland at the headquarters of our foundation.
